Jean Huang is a Taiwan-born visual artist based in Vancouver. She earned her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and works primarily in oil painting.
Her practice is shaped by an early sense of alienation formed through her experience as the academically overlooked third child in her family. Positioned outside dominant measures of achievement and recognition, this background fostered a long-standing resistance to normative systems of value, visibility, and success.
Alongside her studio practice, Huang works as an early childhood educator. This daily proximity to structures of care, expectation, and observation informs her understanding of childhood not as innocence, but as a condition actively shaped by adult frameworks. Rather than illustrating narratives of protection or affection, her work examines moments where intimacy, pressure, and restraint quietly coexist.
Drawing from AI-generated imagery and classical oil painting techniques, Huang constructs visual situations that resist emotional closure. Her paintings linger in states that are quiet but not polite, where cuteness does not guarantee openness, and gentleness unsettles rather than reassures. Through this restrained tension, her work reflects on how vulnerability is produced, managed, and read within the act of looking.
黃尹臻（Jean Huang）為出生於台灣、現居溫哥華的視覺藝術家，創作媒材以油畫為主，並取得美國塔夫茨大學附屬美術館美術學校（School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University）藝術創作碩士（MFA）。
她的創作源於早期的疏離經驗。作為家中在學業體系中不被看好的老三，她長期被置於主流成就與可見性標準之外，這樣的位置使她對既定的價值系統、觀看結構與成功敘事產生持續的抵抗。
除藝術創作外，黃尹臻亦於幼兒教育現場工作。這段長期身處於「照顧、期待與觀看」結構中的經驗，使她不將童年視為單純的純真狀態，而是一種被成人框架持續形塑的條件。她的作品並不描繪保護或親密的敘事，而是關注在親近、壓力與克制悄然並存的時刻。
透過結合 AI 生成影像與古典油畫技法，她建構出拒絕情緒收束的視覺場景。畫面安靜，卻並不討好；可愛不必然意味著敞開，溫柔亦可能令人不安。她的作品由此探問脆弱性如何在觀看之中被生成、被管理，並被閱讀。
